Many of our favorite car manufacturers build, market and sell high performance versions of their staple models. A few examples include the hopped up Volkswagen GTI that came in the form of the MK4 and MK5 R32, or RS and S versions of the Audi A4 and A5 body styles. These “factory” performance modifications can range from high output engines, to suspension, brakes and body work or all of the above together. For many consumers these “R” versions fill exactly what they think the other base models are missing. But what happens when a tuned version of your favorite new German sedan doesn’t exist? You build your own of course. We now follow Peter’s journey with the help of 3ZERO3 Motorsports in transforming his clean sexy white Volkswagen CC from stock and average to fully built and head turning. Just 3 or 4 years ago when Volkswagen released their new full size sedan the CC, which is short for Comfort Coupe, many VW enthusiasts considered it the best looking new sedan to come out of Germany in years. The only thing it was missing was a true sport edition, well, that and POWER!
Now that the handling characteristics were perfectly upgraded we turned to the 2.0T engine focusing on creating car changing power increases while keeping daily driver reliability. Anyone in the VW aftermarket game knows of HPA Motorsports. We partnered with the VW forced induction veterans who broke the mold with single and twin turbo MK4 R32 builds. A new Borge Warner K04 was swapped in to feed off a beautiful HPA Front Mount Intercooler and APR intake. Spot on tuning as well as a 3inch downpipe was also sent down from HPA for this build.
As most of us crazy car tuning enthusiasts can agree, the exhaust note under wide open throttle is just as important as raw horse power, to achieve that perfect exhaust sound we hooked up with Milltek for a shinny new catback exhaust.
As the build came to a completion and the HPA Tune was being finalized, with launch control added, a dyno run was scheduled. The numbers were something to celebrate indeed. From factory spec 200hp to a monster Stage 3 355hp this VW CC truly earned the R badge that Volkswagen never gave it.
After all is said and done this was the kind of build 3ZERO3 looks forward too each and every time. We helped realize Peter’s vision of turning his stock VW CC 2.0T into something special and head turning. With the support of BBS Wheels, HPA Motorsport, Bilstein Suspension and Milltek Sport we were able to deliver the car VW never built, to Peter, the CC-R. This 4 door turbo sedan puts down over 315 wheel horsepower and maintains over 30mpg while cruising. With a tuned 2.0T you can truly have your cake and eat it too.
If you have a car and a vision of turning it into something special, being the first to transform your car into something unlike any other, as we did with the first CC Stage 3 in the country, do not hesitate to give us a call.
